mp3isofs is a patch for mkisofs (now part of the cdrtools package); it allows you to burn files in alphabetical order on your CDs. This is very useful to create MP3 CDs that you want to listen on MP3 CD Players like eXpanium or Genica; these kind of hardware read mp3 files without sorting them according to their name. That's why we need to sort mp3 files when writing them on a CD.
To learn more, read this README file which comes with the package.
